Storm Alert- Strong Thunderstorms Expected Over Next Several Hours. Damaging Winds, Roadway Flooding Possible.

STORM ALERT

WEATHER THREAT: Damaging Winds and Roadway Flooding

TIME PERIOD: Today 4PM-9PM

The sultry weather will continue this afternoon. While a spotty shower/storm can occur over the next few hours, the main event will be the severe weather later today. An area of thunderstorms, now in Central PA, will push east and arrive around the start of the PM rush hour. With a tropical airmass firmly in place, the main "threat" will be isolated areas of poor drainage and roadway flooding from torrential downpours. Equally as concerning will be damaging winds, with gusts of 40-60 mph likely in a couple of storms. This is enough to damage old structures and break small limbs. Cloud to ground lightning will be a threat, too. The potential for severe weather then ends just after sunset.
