The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

July 12th

0650 Hours: Officer Allum investigated a minor injury auto collision on Mowry Avenue at 880. One driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life threating injuries.

0718 Hours: Officer Nobbe investigated the theft of a black 2000 Chevrolet Pickup (CA # 6G28120) on the 6300 block of Baine Avenue.

0801 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes recovered a 2006 Ford E450 on the 37000 block of Walnut Avenue that was reported stolen from Fremont on July 7th. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.

0932 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes seized the license plates off of a vehicle located on Spruce Street for false registration.

1308 Hours: Officer Howcroft seized the license plates off of a vehicle located on the 36000 block of Munyan Street for false registration.

1930 Hours: Officer Johnson contacted and arrested a 57 year old Castro Valley female for false registration, driving with a suspended license, possession of burglary tools and shoplifting. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

1958 Hours: Officer Khairy investigated a non-injury hit-and-run accident on Cherry Street at Dairy Avenue.

2202 Hours: Officer Cervantes responded to an auto burglary at Lion Food Center, 39055 Cedar Boulevard. Losses include a Louis Vuitton purse, backpack, Macbook Pro Laptop, and cash.

2311 Hours: Officer Cervantes responded to an auto burglary at Newpark Auto Service, 39165 Cedar Boulevard. Losses include two laptops, laptop case and hard drives.
