INCIDENT: PC 496(a); Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: 504 Texas Street, Redlands
SUSPECT: David Brian Lawrence, 36 years old, resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY:
The victim contacted police and reported his residence was broken into while he was away, sometime between June 29th and July 3rd, and several items were stolen. Through his own investigation, the victim found his stolen computer being sold on Offer Up. He contacted deputies at the Highland Station who took over the investigation. Deputies made contact with the suspect, later identified as David Lawrence, who was attempting to sell the victim’s property.
Lawrence agreed to meet with the deputies in Redlands, believing he was going to sell the computer to a civilian. At the designated meeting point, Lawrence met with undercover deputies but said he needed to go and grab the computer. Lawrence was stopped a short distance later and he was found to be in possession of the victim’s computer. A search warrant was served at Lawrence’s residence and additional stolen property was recovered.
David Lawrence was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center for Possession of Stolen Property. His bail has been set at $25,000.
