The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

July 10th

1239 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated a fraud case where an elderly victim was coerced into sending $6,000.00 in gift cards to an unknown person. If you have elderly parents / friends, please discuss this with them and encourage them to talk to you or a trusted person before responding to these types of calls.

1340 Hours: Officer Jackman contacted and arrested a 51 year old Newark female for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 6000 block of Amador Place. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

1711 Hours: Officer Jackman recovered a reported stolen Chevrolet Avalanche on the 36000 block of Charles Street. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.

1844 Hours: Officer Cervantes contacted and arrested a 44 year old transient male for violation of a court order on the 6000 block of Cotton Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2039 Hours: Officer Norvell investigated a battery on a person case on the 37000 block of Rockspray Street. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

2141 Hours: Officer Khairy investigated two auto burglaries on the 34900 block of Newark Boulevard. The losses were a gym bag and MacBook Pro laptop.
