The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
July 6th
0729 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 40 year old transient male for possessing drug paraphernalia on Newark Boulevard at Ardenwood Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
0914 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 31 year old transient female for her outstanding warrant and a 31 year old transient male for probation violation on the 36600 block of Newark Boulevard. Both suspects were booked into the Fremont Jail.
2133 Hours: Officer Cervantes contacted and arrested a 32 year old San Jose male for driving without a license, giving false information to a Police Officer and his outstanding warrants. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
2220 Hours: Officer Ackerman contacted and arrested a 47 year old Fremont male for violation of a restraining order on the 5700 block of Dichondra Place. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
July 7th
1109 Hours: Officer Rivas contacted and arrested a 55 year old Newark male for possession of drug paraphernalia on the 5800 block Ravenwood Avenue. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.
1227 Hours: Officer Pacheco responded to Macy’s NewPark Mall for a shoplifter in custody. Officer Pacheco arrested a 51 year old Oakland male for grand theft and the suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1911 Hours: Officer Mavrakis contacted and arrested a 47 year old San Jose male for his outstanding warrants. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.
2038 Hours: While conducting a security check at the Double Tree Hotel, 39900 Balentine Drive, Officer Johnson contacted and arrested a 48 year old Sacramento female for false vehicle registration. Officer Johnson also arrested a 48 year old San Jose male for possession of drug paraphernalia and his outstanding warrants. Both suspects were issued a citation and released at the scene.
0420 Hours: Officer Arroyo contacted and arrested a 24 year old Hayward female for driving under the influence and driving without a license while investigating a solo vehicle non-injury accident on Jarvis Avenue at Fircrest Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
July 8th
1147 Hours: Officer Ackerman investigated a storage locker burglary at Public Storage, 38290 Cedar Boulevard. The loss is several pieces of luggage.
1235 Hours: Officer Herbert recovered a reported stolen Ford commercial vehicle on the 37000 block of Manzanita Street. The vehicle’s owner was notified of the recovery.
1417 Hours: Officer Taylor contacted and arrested a 47 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrants on the 7400 block of Enterprise Drive. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
1601 Hours: Officer Mavrakis contact and arrested a 51 year old transient female along railroad tracks east of Highway 880 for her outstanding warrants. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1856 Hours: Officer Johnson investigated an auto burglary in the parking lot of Tasty, 5576 Newpark Place. The loss is a HP laptop, Apple iPad and Samsung tablet.
2236 Hours: Officers responded to an auto verses bicycle hit and run collision on Cedar Boulevard at Central Avenue. A 42 year old Newark male sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported at a local hospital.
July 9th
0655 Hours: Officer Johnson seized the license plates off of a vehicle on the 34900 block of Newark Boulevard for false registration.
1654 Hours: Officer Jackman contacted and arrested a 51 year old Newark female for possession of a controlled substance on the 35100 block of Newark Boulevard. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
0012 Hours: Officer Losier contacted and arrested a 20 year old Gilroy female for disorderly conduct and obstructing a Police Officer at the boathouse, 5055 Chelsea Drive. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
