Flash Flood Warning for until 7:00PM and Severe Thunderstorm Watch Until 9:00PM for Hamilton County on Friday, July 7

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Hamilton County until 7:00pm on July 7. Radar indicated clusters of thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Portions of Hamilton, Madison and Delaware Counties have already received up 1 to 1.5 inches since 3 pm. With some of these areas also having received 2 to 4 inches of rainfall on Thursday.flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
