Deputies respond to several calls of a naked man entering nearby businesses & attempting to get into passing vehicles

INCIDENT: Assault of a Peace Officer
LOCATION: 25600 block of Baseline Street, Highland
SUSPECT(S): Jerry Coleman, age 37 a resident of Lancaster

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, deputies from the Highland Police Department responded to the intersection of Baseline and Sterling Avenue following several calls of a naked man entering nearby businesses and attempting to get into passing vehicles. A deputy tried several times to take the suspect into custody peacefully; however, he refused to comply and at one point attempted to kick one of the deputies. The suspect, Jerry Coleman, was tased and taken into custody without any further incident. Coleman was taken to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation. He was also issued a citation to address his indecent behavior.
