Update: Smoke northwest of Payson is from the Goodwin Fire near Prescott. NO evacuations necessary in the Rim Country area. 
Update: NO evacuations necessary in the Rim Country area. The smoke you are seeing northwest of Payson right now is from the Goodwin Fire that is located about eight miles south of Prescott on the Bradshaw Ranger District. The date of origin is June 24th and the cause is unknown. Current acreage is about 4400 acres and there are 525 fire personnel on scene. This post will be updated as needed.
