The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Northeastern Wayne County in southeastern Michigan...

* Until 1145 PM EDT

* At 850 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Livonia, Taylor, Grosse Pointe, Downtown Detroit, Detroit, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Lincoln Park, Allen Park, Inkster, Hamtramck, Grosse Pointe Woods, Harper Woods, Highland Park, Grosse Pointe Park, Melvindale, Grosse Pointe Farms, River Rouge, Redford and Northeast Detroit.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WAYNE

Instructions:

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
