Hazardous Weather Discussion
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect today for our area from noon through tonight. A slow-moving cold front will usher in heavy rain and thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening statewide. Rainfall amounts of 1” to 2” are forecast with 3” to 5” possible from locally heavy downpours. Heavy wind gusts and lightning may occur with these storms. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through tonight.

Flash flooding is possible in creeks and streams. Flooding and ponding may occur on roads and in low-lying areas, urban areas and places subject to frequent flooding. Localized road closures may occur. Visibility on roads may be hampered during heavy downpours. Gusty winds can result in downed trees and power lines causing localized power outages.
