False Report of Armed Home Invasion
On Friday, June 16th, 2017 at 6:47a.m., The Huron Township Department of Public Safety Dispatch Operations Center received a 911 call in regard to a Home Invasion in progress. The caller advised that her family member was being held at gun point inside the residence by a person who had broken into the home.
The Huron Township Police Department responded to the 27000 block of Bluebird Drive in emergency fashion to investigate the complaint. Mutual aid was requested from the Sumpter Township Police Department, Metro Parks Police Department, and the Flat Rock Police Department. All responded to assist.
Upon arrival, officers made entry into the residence and made contact with occupants of the residence. All were safe inside the residence and no home invasion had occurred. The residence was searched for weapons with none being located.
The incident remains under investigation. The initial investigation reveals that a family member misconstrued a conversation with a resident at the location.
