Narrative:

On June 13, 2017, at about 10:33 P.M., a robbery occurred at the Rite-Aid store located along the 2500-block of North Las Posas Road in the City of Camarillo.

At approximately 10:00 P.M. the Rite-Aid store closed for business for the day. However, there were two employees still inside the store. At approximately 10:33 P.M., an unknown suspect approached the Rite-Aid and pounded on the store’s glass doors. The suspect attempted to force open the locked glass doors which caused the employees to respond to the door. The suspect then produced a firearm and pointed it at the employees, threatening to shoot them. The suspect ordered the employees to open the door and, fearing for their lives, they complied.

Once inside, the suspect demanded to be taken to the store’s safe and, still holding the firearm, forced the employees into a back room where the safe was located. The suspect forced one of the employees to open the store safe and remove money from inside. The employee complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then ordered the employees to the ground and fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a male, wearing dark clothing, sunglasses, and a bandana covering his face.

Major Crimes detectives have obtained video surveillance of the robbery, which shows the suspect’s entry and exit from the store. Still shots and a portion of the video has been attached to this news story. Detectives are requesting the public’s help in identifying this suspect. If anyone recognizes the suspect or has any other information about the crime, please contact Detective Francisco Jauregui at (805) 384-4738 or at [email protected].
