Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station, in partnership with local colleges and universities, offers internships for students seeking college credit, or for those considering a career in law enforcement. As part of the internship, students are given various tasks within the station, such as assisting Detective Bureau, doing data entry, and assisting with community events. Students are given tours of various Sheriff's Department facilities, such as Twin Towers Correctional Facility, the Sheriff's Communication Center, the Emergency Operations Bureau, and the Emergency Vehicle Operations Center. Students are given the opportunity to do ride-a-longs with deputies as well, to experience firsthand the thrills and excitement of being in a radio car handling calls for service.
