...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING... The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of northeast Florida and northern Florida, including the following areas, in northeast Florida, Baker. In northern Florida, Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Marion, Suwannee, and Union.

* Through Wednesday evening

* Abundant tropical moisture associated with a slow moving low pressure system will blanket the region through Wednesday evening. Localized 1 to 2 inches of rain have fallen with general rainfall amount of half to one inch of rain occuring since this late morning. Several rounds of precipitation are expected through Wednesday evening. Total rainfall of 2 to 4 inches are anticipated in the watch area with locally higher amounts of 6 to 8 inches.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALACHUA ... BAKER ... BRADFORD ... COLUMBIA ... GILCHRIST ... HAMILTON ... MARION ... SUWANNEE ... UNION

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
