...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING... The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of northeast Florida and northern Florida, including the following areas, in northeast Florida, Baker. In northern Florida, Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Marion, Suwannee, and Union.

* Through Wednesday evening

* Abundant tropical moisture associated with a slow moving low pressure system will blanket the region through Wednesday evening. Localized 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen over portions of the I-75 corridor in Northeast Florida and the Suwannee Valley this morning, with several rounds of precipitation expected. Total rainfall of 3 to 6 inches are anticpated in the watch area with locally higher amounts of 10 inches.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALACHUA ... BAKER ... BRADFORD ... COLUMBIA ... GILCHRIST ... HAMILTON ... MARION ... SUWANNEE ... UNION

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
