Subject: Suicidal Subject
On Thursday, June 1, Sun Prairie Police responded to the 1300 block of Buena Vista Dr. for a report of an armed suicidal subject. The subject displayed a weapon to responding officers.
When the subject advanced toward officers, a less-lethal device was deployed. The subject was then safely taken into custody.
During the incident, Westside Elementary School was locked down as a precautionary measure.
The Sun Prairie Police Department was assisted by the Dane County Sheriffs Office, including a member of their negotiations team.
