Berkeley Police Department Supports National LGBTQ Pride Month

Across our nation, the month of June is officially recognized as National LGBTQ Pride month, a time to recognize and support the LGBTQ community. This year, we want to affirm the Berkeley Police Department’s commitment to, and support of, the LGBTQ community within our city and our Department.  This is in accordance with our dedication to safeguarding our diverse community, and treating all with dignity and respect.

We are proud to show our support of Berkeley’s LGBTQ community this year:  During June, you may see Department members wearing a Pride lapel pin. Starting next Monday and continuing for the month of June, we will display the Pride flag in our lobby; this display complements the Pride flag being flown in Civic Center Park. To round out the month, Berkeley Police Department members will be participating in the annual San Francisco Pride Parade on Sunday, June 25, 2017. All of our employees and their families have been invited to join the BPD contingent for this event.
