Good Thursday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office or 5/24/17.

-Hwy 385 at Filly Rd, Levelland: Welfare Check. A deputy responded to a call of a female walking along the highway. The individual was located and it was determined nothing suspicious was ongoing, nor were there any issues.

-2000 blk Drill Stem Rd, Levelland: Illegal Dumping. A deputy responded to a complaint of trash being located on property in the area. A report was completed related to the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

-6800 blk Bearcat Rd, Smyer: Assist EMS. Deputies responded to a call for assistance of an unknown nature. It was determined to be a medical issue and one individual was transported by EMS for treatment.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Warrant Service. An individual wanted for a felony warrant turned himself in at the Jail when after learning we were searching for him. He was released to jail personnel.

-800 blk Timmons, Ropesville: 911 Hang-Up. Deputies were dispatched to a residence related to a 911 hang-up call. The residence appeared vacant and no one was observed in the area.

-1800 blk Cactus, Levelland: Alarm. Deputies were dispatched to an alarm at a residence in the area. It was determined to be accidental. No offenses were reported.

-West Ave at Equalizer Rd, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted Levelland Police with a pursuit of a motorcycle. One individual was arrested at the scene and transported to the jail.

-600 blk Koala Rd, Levelland: Civil Issue. A complainant requested to speak with a deputy regarding a civil matter. Civil remedies were advised and no offenses were reported.

-1100 blk 10th St, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance in the area. Several residences were checked and no disturbance was located. Several neighbors indicated there were juveniles walking in the area. The entire area was searched and no one was located.

-200 blk Cleveland, Smyer: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to a welfare check of a juvenile requested by a parent. No one was located at the residence and no vehicles were on scene. The information was relayed to the complainant.

-Cedar at Hwy 114, Levelland: Investigative Follow-up. Deputies received information related to a reported theft that occurred the previous Saturday. Stolen property was located and returned to the complainant. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Deputies also conducted patrols in areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and close patrols/vacation watches.

Jail population as of 5/25/17 at 0800 hours: 44 in Hockley County, 4 to be processed, and 13 out-of-county.
