Children Safety Presentation Blandford Elementary School
In May 2014, Debbie Hsiung and Phil Tam lost their 7-year-old son Aidan when a truck, making a right turn, did not wait for the pedestrians to safely cross the street. Now in 5th grade, members from Aidan's 2nd grade class created a slide show on pedestrian safety. Nearly 2,000 children under the age of 15 have died since 2014 and many of these types of accidents could have been prevented. After the student's presentation ended, Rowland Heights Community Relations Deputy Louis Denver spoke on bicycle and pedestrian safety. The lecture then finished with a discussion on bullying.
