The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
May 23rd
0826 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 36 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrant during a pedestrian stop on Fountaine Avenue at Haley Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1158 Hours: Officer Slavazza investigated a stolen 1997 Honda Civic on the 36500 block of Charles Street. The vehicle was recovered by BART Police later in the day and released to the registered owner.
1217 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated a minor injury accident on Newark Boulevard at Highway 84.
1612 Hours: Officer Mavrakis investigated an auto burglary on the 37900 block of Lobelia Drive. The loss is a watch, miscellaneous hand tools and CD’s.
0454 Hours: Officer Smith responded to a disturbance on the 35500 block of Blackburn Drive. A 29 year old Newark female was contacted and arrested for being under the influence of Methamphetamine. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
