5/13 – 11:22 a.m. – Police responded to a call for a disturbance in progress, on North Jefferson Avenue. While en route, the officer was advised of a suspect vehicle leaving, with a child inside. He located the vehicle on Route 158, headed towards Columbia. When the officer stopped the vehicle, the driver came out and was very irate and acted aggressive. The driver was initially detained while an investigation took place. Upon investigating the officer found there had been a disturbance between the driver and another family member at the residence on North Jefferson. There having been no evidence of a crime, the driver was released. The Smithton Police assisted with this incident.
