** Boil Water Advisory **

The City of Madison has issued a Boil Water Notice due to a water main break at Interstate 20 and US 441. This notice will affect City of Madison water customers from McDonald’s restaurant extending south across I-20 to Madison Lakes. The break occurred today at approximately 3:30 pm. City utility crews are currently on site affecting repairs to the damage. Water service will be restored as quickly as possible.

This notice is required by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division when water pressure drops below 20 psi (pounds per square inch). The boiled water is for drinking and cooking purposes or you may use bottled water until bacteriological samples can be collected and tested. Water for drinking and cooking purposes should be boiled for one minute. Water is safe for uses other than drinking and cooking. Water should be boiled until this noticed is lifted by the City of Madison.
