BOIL WATER ADVISORY
TO THE RESIDENTS OF WHITMIRE
May 9, 2017
The Whitmire Commission of Public Works ADVISES the residents of the Town of Whitmire located in Newberry County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking. This is due to the loss of system pressure caused by a break in the 10” main located on Union Street near the Little League Ballpark. This is an advisory only, it is NOT mandatory. Residents are suggested to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by the Whitmire Commission of Public Works. Also, any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes. The Whitmire Commission of Public Works is working to correct the problem and system pressure should soon be restored.
