On May 5, 2017 at approximately 2:00 pm, Detectives from the Menlo Park Police Special Investigations Unit (SIU), MPPD Criminal Investigations Unit and the San Mateo County Narcotic Task Force executed a search warrant on the 2400 block of Gonzaga Street, in the City of East Palo Alto, for possession for sales of cocaine base.
East Palo Alto resident Zerrette Powell (47 years old) was contacted during the search and placed under arrest for possession for sales of cocaine base, 11351.5 H&S. An additional subject, East Palo Alto resident Marcel Powell (55 years old), was contacted at the scene and arrested for a parole violation. During the search of the Powell residence, cocaine base was located along with 9 high power rifles and shotguns, ammunition and a large amount of US currency. All the items were seized for evidence and both Zerrette Powell and Marcel Powell were booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
