Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 5/4/17.

-US 62/82 at Parrot Rd, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to the area to attempt to locate a reported reckless driver. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-Hwy 114 at Barton Ln, Levelland: Disturbance. A deputy responded to the area regarding a possible disturbance involving a female and two male subjects. The deputy located the parties and after interviewing all parties it was determined no offenses occurred. All were released from the scene.

-Hwy 114 at Hwy 385, Levelland: Narcotics Arrest. A deputy conducted a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation near the intersection. During the investigation a quantity of narcotics was located in the vehicle and one occupant was detained. The individual attempted to run from the scene but was promptly apprehended. The matter is under further investigation and more information will be released at a later time.

Deputies also conducted patrols around the county, close patrols/vacation watches, service civil process, and conducted investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 5/5/17 at 0800 hours: 55 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, and 13 out-of-county.
