Police Blotter April 21st through April 30th

April 21st

Trespassing – Sprint, 3020 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1218 hours, Officers responded to an unwanted subject at Sprint who was scaring and cursing at customers. A 27-year-old man from Richmond was contacted. The man was issued a trespass card last week for similar conduct. He was arrested and booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

Theft – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1441 hours, Officers responded to a theft and located the 16-year-old female suspect from Hayward near Cutting Blvd and Kearney St. She was positively identified as the suspect during an in-field show up and arrested. She initially lied about her name and date of birth. She was transported to ECPD and released on a citation.

Public Intoxication- 1500 Blk. Liberty St:
At 1825 hours an officer was sent to a residence on a report of a subject drinking beer on the porch of a residence not belonging to her. Upon arrival a 55-year-old Oakland woman was contacted and it was determined she too intoxicated to care for her safety. She was booked into County Jail.

Narcotics Violations/Warrant Arrest- 1900 Blk. Key Blvd:
At 2345 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on two subjects. It was determined a 35-year-old San Pablo woman had a warrant. It was also determined a 40-year-old transient man was in possession of narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia and was a convicted felon in possession of pepper spray. Both subjects were transported to ECPD and cite and released after booking.

April 22nd

Warrant – Lincoln Ave / Elm St:
At 1115 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 33-year-old male transient on no cite Solano County warrant. He was booked and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest- Wildwood Pl:
At 2000 hours officers responded to the residence and served an arrest warrant on a 49-year-old El Cerrito man. The man was transported to ECPD for booking and cite released.

Public Intoxication- Key Blvd./Conlon Ave:
At 2143 hours officers responded to a report of a subject yelling in the area. Upon arrival a 53-year-old Santa Rosa woman was contacted and determined to be too intoxicated to care for her own safety. She was booked into County Jail.

Warrant Arrest- 800 Blk. Richmond St:
At 2225 hours officers responded to the residence and served an arrest warrant on a 26-year-old El Cerrito man. The man was booked into County Jail.

Public Intoxication- 6060 Central Ave:
At 2319 hours officers responded to a report of unwanted subjects. Upon arrival a 55-year-old transient man was contacted and determined to be too intoxicated to care for his own safety. The man was arrested and transported to County Jail.

DUI-San Pablo Ave / Hill St:
At 0129 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 32-year-old Richmond woman for DUI. The subject was released on a citation from ECPD.

April 23rd

Battery – Starbucks, 11861 San Pablo Ave:
At 1038 hours, the victim confronted the suspect about parking in a handicap stall without a placard and any apparent disability. The suspect struck the victim several times in the face and then fled in a grey 4 door Mercedes. The suspect was a black male, mid 20s, beard, and wearing a black shirt and acid wash jeans.

Warrant Arrest-San Pablo Ave / Barrett Ave:
At 1937 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on a 47-year-old transient male who had a parole violation warrant. The man was booked into County Jail.

April 24th

Burglary – 6600 block Hagen Blvd:
Between 4/22/17 at 1730 hours and 4/24/17 at 0720 hours, an unknown suspect accessed a lockbox and used the key to enter the residence which is under construction and stole tools worth approximately $1200.

Warrant (X2) – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0956 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 38-year-old Richmond woman on a no bail Contra Costa County warrant and a San Mateo County FTA warrant. She was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 1800 block Ganges St:
At 1216 hours, Officers responded to an alarm and found the unknown suspect forced entry to the residence and stole cash and jewelry.

DUI Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Eastshore Blvd:
At 2308 hours, an officer arrested a 36-year-old male out of Oakland for DUI. He was cited and released.

April 25th

Residential Burglary- Carmel Ave:
At 1626 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 0730- 1630 hours, an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a residence and stole cash and a checkbook.

Resisting Arrest – Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 1930 hours, El Cerrito police officers were dispatched to a theft in progress. A male suspect smashed open the cell phone display case, took a cell phone and fled towards the Del Norte BART station. An El Cerrito police officer located a 38-year-old male from Richmond, who matched the suspect description, crossing San Pablo Ave towards BART. The officer attempted to stop the male but he refused to stop. The officer grabbed the males arm to detain him, but the male pulled away from the officer. The male was taken to the ground and after a brief struggle, he was detained in handcuffs. The male was not identified as the suspect who stole from Walgreens. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, booked and released on a citation.

Robbery, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Parole Violation – Ross 2000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At approximately 2026 hours, a 31-year-old male from Martinez entered Ross and took several clothing items. When employees attempted to stop the male, he threatened them with physical harm. A loss prevention employee followed the male to the El Cerrito Plaza BART platform where El Cerrito police officers contacted him. During a search of the male’s person, the male pulled his arms away from officers and was taken to the ground. After a brief struggle on the ground, the male was placed in handcuffs. The male was later found to be on parole for battery while in state prison. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving Under the Influence, Drunk in Public, False Information to a Police Officer, and Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Manila Ave:
At approximately 2210 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 32-year-old male from San Leandro, for DUI. The front passenger, a 26-year-old male from Oakland lied about his true identity several times to police officers and was extremely intoxicated. The rear passenger, a 39-year-old male from Oakland, had a DUI warrant for his arrest from Oakland PD. All three subjects were arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The driver and front passenger were released on a citation. The rear passenger was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility on his warrant.

April 26th

Stolen Vehicle – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0707 hours, an officer located a stolen 1998 Honda Civic 4 door, in the Safeway parking lot. While officers were conducting surveillance on the vehicle, they noticed a 29-yea-old male from Pittsburg walking towards the vehicle. When the male saw officers approaching him, he attempted to flee from them. After a short foot pursuit, the male was taken into custody. During a records check, it was discovered the male had an outstanding warrant. The male was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, credit cards belonging to another person and burglary tools. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Station and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery - 6000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 0936 hours, officers were sent to the business for a report of a theft that had just occurred. Upon arrival it was determined that the suspect had stolen property from the store. As the suspect exited the store he was confronted by an employee and the suspect challenged the employee to fight.

Residential Burglary - 2500 Block of Arlington Blvd:
An officer responded to a report of a burglary of the vacant residence under construction. The theft occurred in between 04/25/17 1800 – 04/26/17 0940 hours. Entry was made via a side door kick. The suspect stole power tools.

April 27th

Residential Burglary - 7700 Block of Terrace Dr:
At 0829 hours, an officer responded to the report of a burglary. Sometime over night, an unidentified suspect entered a residence under construction and stole tools. There was no forced entry.

Shoplifting - 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1422 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. While on scene, another shoplifting occurred. The 40-year-old female from Sacramento was detained for stealing cosmetics. During a records check, officers discovered the female had an outstanding warrant. The female was issued a citation and released from the scene.

Shoplifting - 1000 EC Plaza:
At 1612 hours, an officer noticed Lucky’s security in foot pursuit of a theft suspect. The officer caught up with the suspect and detained him. The 42-year-old male from Richmond was placed under Citizen’s Arrest by the security guard. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police station and released on a citation.

Shoplifting - 10794 San Pablo Ave:
At 1624 hours, Officers responded to the report of a shoplifter at Marshall’s described as a HFA wearing a mullet wig. The suspect was trying to flee onto the AC transit bus but loss prevention agents convinced the bus driver not to picker her up. The 27-year-old female from Richmond was detained by responding officers. She was placed under Citizen’s Arrest by the loss prevention agents. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police station and released on a citation.

Drunk in Public – Parking Lot of Trader Joes 225 El Cerrito Plaza:
At approximately 1728 hours, an El Cerrito police officer responded to a welfare check of a male stumbling and lying on top of cars. The officer located a 56-year-old male from Washington leaning against a pole. The male displayed objective signs of being under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

April 28th

Warrant – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1113 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted subject and contacted a 59-year-old transient male. He was wanted on a no cite Alameda County warrant. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Strong Arm Robbery – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1335 hours, a 40-year-old female from Richmond concealed cosmetics in a paper bag and tried to exit the store. She was confronted at the exit and the merchandise recovered temporarily. The suspect assumed a fighting stance and then physically ripped the merchandise from the manager’s hands. The manager feared he was going to be physically assaulted and the suspect fled with the merchandise in a maroon colored pick up. An officer located the suspects’ vehicle at Peerless and Cutting Blvd after it had been involved in a minor collision while fleeing. The suspect was positively identified, arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Narcotics Possession - 11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway):
At 1912 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 56-year-old Richmond man for possession of methamphetamine. The man was cite released.

Shoplifting - 10759 San Pablo Ave. (Marshall’s):
At 2026 hours security at the business reported a shoplifter was detained. It was determined a 30-year-old San Pablo woman had stolen clothing and was placed under citizen’s arrest by store security. The woman was cite released.

Warrant Arrest - Central Ave / San Mateo St:
At 0023 hours an officer conducted a stop on a bicyclist and arrested a 38-year-old Oakland woman for a misdemeanor warrant. The woman was booked into County Jail in Martinez.

Vandalism - 10900 San Pablo Ave (ECPD):
At 0327 hours officers were dispatched to a report of a subject calling from the telephone in front of the police department making incoherent statements. Before Officers could get to the front of the police department, the subject broke the plate glass window with a rock and fled on foot. Officers conducted an area check and located other two other businesses that had also been the victims of similar vandalisms. A 48-year-old transient man was located and arrested after he vandalized a third business on Potrero Ave. The man was booked into County Jail in Martinez.

April 29th

Sex Registrant Out of Compliance – 11861 San Pablo Ave:
At 0634 hours, an officer responded to a 911 disconnect and contacted a 35-year-old male from Antioch. The man was determined to be a sex registrant and he had not registered since 2014. Sex registrants are required to register annually. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and cite released.

Battery, Vandalism, Hit and Run – Wells Fargo, 9800 San Pablo Ave:
At 1304 hours, two suspects and the victim were involved in a minor road rage incident. A 52-year-old male from pushed the victim during the argument while the 23-year-old male driver from Richmond used a small club to brake the victim’s tail light and windshield. After damaging the victim’s car and shoving the victim, the two suspects tried to flee and collided into a second victim’s vehicle. The 23 year old then drove out of the parking lot. Witnesses provided a license plate. Officers responded to the address and contacted the suspect’s mother. She called the suspect and convinced him to return to the scene. Both suspects were positively identified, placed under citizen arrest, booked at the ECPD, and then cited.

April 30th

Shoplift, False Name to Officer – Marshalls, 10759 San Pablo Ave:
At 1430 hours, an officer responded to shoplifters in custody and accepted the citizen arrest of a 25-year-old Richmond woman and a 21-year-old Richmond man after they stole merchandise and then immediately returned it for store credit. The female initially provided a false name but her identity was confirmed when her California ID was found in her purse. Both were cite released in the field.

Warrant – Nations, 6060 Central Ave:
At 1605 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted subject and arrested a 35-year-old Richmond woman on a no cite Contra Costa County warrant. She was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to MDF.

DUI - Kearney St / Blake St:
At 1842 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 57-year-old Vallejo man for DUI. The man was cite released.

Shoplifting - 11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway):
At 0021 hours officers responded to a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. The suspect was located by responding officers and was identified by employees as the responsible for the theft. It was determined a 31-year-old Bay Point man had stolen approx. $200 worth of toothpaste. The man was placed under citizen arrest and cite released.
