Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 5/2/17 through 5/3/17.

Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 5/2/17, and Wednesday, 5/3/17.

5/2/17

-3300 blk Nightingale Rd, Ropesville: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the area related to a male subject knocking on doors. The individual was located, transported to a residence and released to a family member. No offenses were reported.

-FM 303 at Hwy 114, Levelland: Criminal Mischief. A residence in the area reported damage to a shed on the property. No items were reported stolen. Information was collected for a report.

-US 62/82 at Main, Ropesville: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a suspicious vehicle in the area. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located.

-100 blk Arnett, Ropesville: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy responded to a call at a business related to an abandoned vehicle. Remedies were provided to the business owner and the information was documented.

-6600 blk Bear Rd, Smyer: Emergency Detention. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to a male subject reportedly experiencing mental health issues. The individual was detained and transported to the hospital or evaluation. The subject was later transported to a facility for further evaluation.

-900 blk E. 14th St, Littlefield: Warrant Service. Deputies traveled to Lamb County o attempt to locate a wanted individual from Hockley County. The individual was located and placed under arrest by Littlefield PD officers. The individual was transported to the Lamb County Jail, and was later transferred to Hockley County.

-6600 blk East Ellis, Smyer: Abandoned Vehicle. Deputies were dispatched to a reported abandoned vehicle in the area. It was determined to be a vehicle crash that had occurred earlier in the day. The information was transferred to Troopers related to the crash.

-800 blk Grant, Smyer: Shots Fired. Deputies were dispatched to locate an individual reportedly hunting from a vehicle. The area was searched and no vehicle was located.

-6800 blk East Hwy 114, Smyer: Unwanted Subject. Deputies responded to a call related to individual who refused to leave a residence. On arrival, deputies were advised the individuals left the residence prior to their arrival, and no offenses were reported.

5/3/17

-FM 2130 at East Ellis, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a reported vehicle crash in the area. Troopers also arrived on scene and assumed the investigation.

-FM 2130 at East Ellis, Smyer: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to the area in reference to a white pickup truck pulling a trailer. The complainant advised the individual driving the vehicle illegally dumped trash along the roadway in Lubbock County. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located.

-6400 blk Foster Rd, Ropesville: Abandoned Vehicle. Deputies responded to a reported abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed due to being a road hazard.

-FM 1585 at Hard Hat Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to a call of loose livestock in the area. Several were located outside of the fencing and damage to the fence was located. Deputies were able to secure the cattle and make a repair to the fence. We are attempting to identify and contact the owner.

Deputies also conducted patrols in areas of the county, close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 5/4/17 at 0800 hours: 50 in Hockley County, 8 to be processed, 13 out-of-county.
