(Etowah County, Alabama) An Altoona man has been arrested for being in possession of stolen property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Joseph Ted Ramey, 44, of Altoona, is charged with one count of third degree receiving stolen property and possession of a pistol by a violent felon, both are felonies,” deputy Josh Gaskin said.

Ramey allegedly was in possession of a stolen Ruger SP101 .357 Magnum. The gun had been stolen during a burglary on Old Gallant Road.

He was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $7,500 bond. Ramey has a prior domestic violence conviction.
