Burglary/Theft Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man has been arrested in connection to burglary and theft, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Kenny Defforest Gibbs, Jr., 29, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of third degree burglary, two counts of first degree theft of property and two counts of third degree theft of property, all are felonies,” investigator Adam Chapman said.

Gibbs and Justin Wayne Ryan Bearden allegedly broke into a chicken house, located on Baker Drive, and stole a red Honda Rancher TRX350 ATV, a green Yamaha Grizzly 660 ATV and a winch off of a truck. The duo attempted to sell or trade portions of the stolen items.

To date, investigators have recovered two tires from the Honda Rancher, the truck winch and the Yamaha Grizzly. The items have been returned to the rightful owner.

Gibbs is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $15,500 bond.

Warrants have been obtained for Bearden. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of Justin Wayne Ryan Bearden, please contact investigator Adam Chapman at 256-546-2825.
