...Gusty northwest to north winds across portions of southwestern California through at least Friday morning... .Weak frontal systems passing to the north of the region will continue to generate gusty northwest to north winds across portions of Southwestern California for much of the week. ...WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PDT THURSDAY... ...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING... The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Thursday evening through Friday morning.

* WINDS AND TIMING...Areas of northwest to north winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph will continue through at least mid morning Thursday. Isolated gusts to 60 mph are possible in favored locations this evening. Winds will be strongest through the Interstate 5 corridor and higher peaks. Another blast of northerly winds are expected Thursday evening through early Friday morning where the potential for widespread gusts of 60 mph will be possible. Gusty winds are expected to turn northeast Friday morning through Saturday bringing the possibility of extended wind advisories.

* Impacts....Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. Major roads that will be affected include Interstate 5 and Highway 14.

* AFFECTED AREAS: LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS EXCLUDING THE SANTA MONICA RANGE ... VENTURA COUNTY MOUNTAINS
