Attention Rutgers Community:
The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating an aggravated assault which was reported to have occurred on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at approximately 2:04 AM on an unidentified street perpendicular to Easton Avenue in the City of New Brunswick.
In this incident the victim, who is not affiliated with Rutgers University, arrived at a local area hospital where he stated that he had been assaulted by an unknown male wielding a sharp object for unknown reasons. The victim did not give further information as to the exact location of the incident and he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Descriptions of the perpetrator are limited at this time.
The New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, to contact the New Brunswick Police Department Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217.
