(Etowah County, Alabama) A Boaz man has been arrested in connection to the theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Billy Dale Keener, 34, of Boaz, is charged with one count of first degree theft of property, which is a felony,” investigator Adam Chapman said.

Keener allegedly stole various items, over the course of a few months, from FarmTown located in Sardis. Keener admitted to taking the items and then trading them for drugs. He was employed by the business at the time of the theft.

Many of the items, valued at more than $19,700.00, have been recovered and returned to the rightful owner.

Keener was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
