Missing in New Jersey Event - May 20th at Rutgers University

MISSING IN NEW JERSEY  - May 20th at Rutgers University

South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka is encouraging community members who may have a loved one gone missing to attend "Missing in New Jersey" event. The event hosted by the New Jersey State Police, will be held on May 20th at Rutgers University's Main Campus in New Brunswick.

For the first time in State history, there will be an event open to the families and friends of the missing where people can gather to heal, network, learn, and most importantly, keep hope alive. "Missing in New Jersey" will be held on Saturday, May 20, at Rutgers University, 126 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Families will also be able to provide biometric data, which will only be used to help solve missing person cases and unidentified human remains. If you are unsure about your own origins and background, you can submit DNA that could be linked to an unidentified child abduction case

Every year more than 14,000 people are reported missing in New Jersey. Since 1969, there have been more than 1,100 unsolved missing person cases statewide and more than 300 investigations of unidentified human remains. The purpose of the event is to help identify the missing and bring them home safely or bring closure to family members.  Families and friends affected by the disappearance of a loved one and the organizations that work to bring them home are encouraged to attend the free event that seeks to raise awareness of missing persons.

Families that want to participate are asked to preregister by e-mailing [email protected] or by calling Sgt. Joel Trella at 609-882-2000, ext. 2554.
