Advisory

Statewide Tornado Drill Today 4/19/2017

As part of the 2017 Michigan Severe Weather Awareness Week, all outdoor warning (tornado) sirens in Lansing and the rest of Ingham County will be activated on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 1pm. In addition, the mass notification systems in use in the county (Nixle and CodeRED) will also be fully activated as if it were an actual emergency.

If your phone is registered in the system, you will receive notice prior to the drill on Wednesday as an additional reminder via voice call and/or a text message. Use this time to head to your closest shelter, or at least make yourself aware of where you would go and how long it would take to get there if this was an actual warning.

Once again - the siren network WILL BE ACTIVATED for a TEST tornado drill on 4/19/2017 at 1pm.
