Teton County Emergency Management would like to pass along a series of upcoming preparedness events for the community.

  • 4/15/17 is the Jackson Hole Airport disaster exercise.  The public can expect to see emergency vehicles, smoke, and other emergency activities in the morning around the airport.  This is for situational awareness only and requires no action on the part of the community.
  • 4/21/17 is the deadline to submit your Nixle user survey.  If you haven't already, fill out the survey here www.bit.ly/2pgkjhk for a chance to win one of 3 emergency 72 hour kits!
  • 4/21/17 to 4/22/17 is the 35th Annual Home Show at the Snow King Events Center.  Teton County Emergency Management will be on hand with Teton County Public Health with info on earthquake mitigation, radon testing, water testing, and more.  Come on down and say hi!
  • 4/22/17 from 8:30a to 1:00p at the Teton County EOC will be free Disaster Services and Sheltering Training with the American Red Cross.  Have you wanted to help your community during a disaster? This is the first step.  The Red Cross is a critical local partner in emergency services, and we are in serious need of shelter volunteers.  To learn more or sign up, contact Craig Kirkpatrick at [email protected].
  • 5/6/2017 is the Community Health Fair at the Teton County Recreation Center from 9:00a to 1:00p.  Teton County Emergency Management and our wildland fire partners will be there with fire prevention information, tours of firefighting apparatus, fire extinguisher instruction, child car seat check-ups, and more.
  • On 5/22/17, 6/12/17, and 7/17/17 we'll be holding encore presentations of The Great Jackson Eclipse at the Teton County Library at 6:00p (sponsored by Teton County Parks and Recreation and the Teton County Library).  These presentations by Teton County Emergency Management and Wyoming Stargazing talk about the science behind the upcoming August 21st Total Solar Eclipse and some of the things the community should prepare for.
  • 6/26/17 will be the screening of The Era of Megafires movie at the National Museum of  Wildlife Art.  This is a free event for the public brought to you by the Teton Area Wildfire Protection Coalition.  Follow TAWPC on Facebook for more information www.facebook.com/TAWPC/
Don't say there isn't anything to do in Jackson during the off-season!
