March 28th
Shoplifter / Warrant 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0804 hours, an officer responded to the report of a female shoplifting suspect. A 46 year-old-woman was detained for shoplifting. She was found to have two warrants for her arrest. She was booked and released on a citation on the new charges and transported to the MDF on the warrants.
Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Av: / Eastshore Blvd:
At 0905 hours, an officer contacted a 19-year-old Richmond man during a traffic stop. He was wanted on a misdemeanor no cite warrant. He was booked and transported to the MDF.
Methamphetamine Possession - 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1250 hours, an officer was assisting a CSO with a vehicle tow. A search of the vehicle revealed approx. 5 grams of methamphetamine. The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old San Pablo woman arrived. She was arrested, booked and cite released.
Warrant Arrest - 5000 block of Cutting Blvd:
At 1444 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 25-year-old Richmond woman was wanted on a misdemeanor probation warrant. She was field cited and released.
Robbery - 5040 EC Plaza :
At 1530 hours, an officer was flagged down about a subject breaking into a car. The officer responded and contacted a 31-year-old Oakland man who was in the process of stealing items from a vehicle. The subject had been confronted by the owner of the vehicle who was then shoved back by the suspect and then challenged him to fight. When the victim retreated the suspect then went back to stealing items from the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody, booked and transported to the MDF.
Missing Person (Report/Located) – 900 block of Elm St:
At approximately 0450 hours, an 84-year-old female walked away from her care home. El Cerrito police officers circulated the area for the female. The female was located by police officers, unharmed, and wandering in the 800 block of Elm St. The female was transported and reunited with her caregivers.
March 29th
Robbery - Marshall’s - 10794 San Pablo Ave:
At 1231 hours, Officers responded to the report of a robbery that just occurred at Marshalls. A loss prevention agent, attempted to stop two theft suspects. (S1) a HFA, 35 years old, 5’04” 190 lbs, long died reddish hair in a pony tail wearing a black shirt and black pants (S-2) HMA 35, black shirt unbuttoned with a gold chain, black hair in a short pompadour and moustache, concealed merchandise and left without paying. When confronted by the loss prevention agent, (S1) sprayed her in the face with pepper spray and both suspects fled south through the parking lot. (V) was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Robbery – Conspiracy - Parole Violation - Lucky’s - 1000 EC Plaza:
At 1508 hours, Officers responded to the report of a robbery that just occurred at Luckys. A 56-year-old Oakland male stole several packages of meat from the store. When confronted by the store manager, the suspect told him “I’m a gangsta” and took out a knife. He fled to an awaiting white Chevrolet truck with paper plates driven by a 49-year-old Oakland parolee and occupied by a 44-year-old Oakland male. A motor officer spotted the suspect vehicle fleeing on Central Ave. All subjects were taken into custody. The weapon and stolen chicken was safely recovered. A parole hold was obtained. All three were booked and transported to the MDF.
Arrest for Reckless Driving and Unlicensed Driver – 11299 San Pablo Ave:
At 2057 hours, an El Cerrito police officer observed a vehicle doing donuts in the parking lot. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, an 18-year-old male from San Francisco was found to be unlicensed. The male’s vehicle was towed and the male was arrested. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.
Warrant Arrest – 9900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 0035 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 57-year-old male for an outstanding warrant. The residents in the area called police because the male was harassing them. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest – Santa Clara St. / Lassen Ave:
At 0326 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 31-year-old male from Berkeley for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
March 30th
Drunk in Public-9800 San Pablo Ave:
At 1304 hours, an officer responded to the report of a man down and unresponsive. A 46-year-old Kensington man was located and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest-11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1616 hours, an officer was investigating a theft at the business when he recognized a 35-year-old man from previous contacts walking near the business. The officer was aware the man had an outstanding warrant. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1943 hours an El Cerrito police officer conducted a security check of the business and contacted a 61-year-old male from San Francisco. The police officer found that the male had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for theft related charges. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.
Arrest for Possession of Methamphetamines – San Pablo Ave at Ohio Ave:
At 2316 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a pedestrian stop on a 32-year-old male from Richmond. During a search of the male, the officer located a bindle of methamphetamine on his person. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito police department and released on a citation.
March 31st
Auto Burglary – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
Between 0940 and 0945 hours, the victim left her purse on her vehicle’s front seat and entered a business. When she returned, she found her front passenger side window shattered and her purse stolen by the unknown suspect.
Residential Burglary – 2000 block Tapscott Ave:
Between 1215 and 1430 hours, an unknown suspect entered the residence via an unsecured window and ransacked a bedroom. The suspect stole cash, a wallet with credit cards, and miscellaneous electronics.
Shoplifting -11565 San Pablo Ave. :
At 1851 hours Officers responded to a reported theft that had just occurred. Two juveniles were detained for shoplifting. They were booked and issued citations for the shoplifting charges.
DUI- Cutting Blvd./Pebble Beach Dr:
At 0301 hours an officer made a vehicle stop and arrested the driver, a 23-year-old Richmond man, for driving under the influence. The man was on probation for DUI and was booked into County Jail.
Domestic Battery - 11700 San Pablo Ave:
At 0501 hours Officers were sent to a residence regarding a domestic violence incident. It was determined that the victim’s girlfriend, an 18-year-old Richmond woman, had scratched and choked him. She was arrested and booked into County Jail.
April 1st
Stolen Vehicle – 5200 block Potrero Ave:
Between 3/31/17 at 2300 hours and 4/1/17 at 0645 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2003 brown Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
Warrant Arrest- San Pablo Ave. / Wall Ave.:
At 1954 hours an officer made a pedestrian stop and arrested a 34-year-old Richmond man for an outstanding warrant. The man was cited and released.
Shoplifting- 11565 San Pablo Ave.:
At 2046 hours Officers responded to a report of a theft that just occurred. A 35-year-old Transient female was detained for shoplifting. The female initially refused to cooperate and provided a false name. She was booked into County Jail.
Warrant Arrest- San Pablo Ave./Wall Ave.:
At 2337 hours an officer made a pedestrian stop and arrested a 27-year-old Los Angeles man for a misdemeanor warrant. The man was cited and released.
Narcotics Arrest- 1900 Blk. Key Blvd:
At 0127 hours an officer made a pedestrian stop and arrested a 45-year-old Richmond man for possession of narcotics, being under the influence of narcotics, and a probation violation. The man was booked into County Jail.
April 2nd
Warrant Arrest – BART Path / Brighton Ave:
At approximately 0744 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 64-year-old man from Richmond on a felony Contra Costa County Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
Possess Controlled Substance / Paraphernalia – Creekside Park:
At approximately 1053 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 38-year-old male transient for possession of methamphetamines and a pipe. He was booked at the ECPD and released on citation.
Shoplift – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 1621 hours, a 25-year-old man from Richmond stole perfume from Walgreens. He was located at BART, detained, and an infield show-up conducted. He was positively identified as the suspect, placed under citizen arrest, booked at the ECDP, and released on a citation.
Arrest for Shoplifting and a Probation Violation - 10598 San Pablo Ave (Baskin Robbins) :
At approximately 1842 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to Baskin Robbins for the theft of the tip jar. An El Cerrito police officer located a 25-year-old male from Richmond on the BART path at Stockton Ave., who matched the suspect’s description. The reporting party positively identified the male as the suspect during an infield show-up. The male was also on probation for theft out of Contra Costa County. The male was arrest, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Eastshore Blvd at San Pablo Ave.:
At approximately 2151 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to a report of a female who walked into Walgreen’s (11565 San Pablo Ave) and yelled that she had been shot in the face. When officers arrived, they located the victim who had two small puncture wounds on her face that were bleeding. The small wounds appeared to be from a BB or pellet.
The female stated she was walking southbound on the west curb of Eastshore Blvd towards Potrero Ave, when a white 4-door vehicle, possibly a Mercury Comet, pulled up next to her. The passenger, who had a light complexion, wearing a baseball cap, pointed what appeared to be a long rifle at her. The victim heard the sound of a single “firecracker” and felt something hit her face. The vehicle fled southbound on Eastshore Blvd., while the victim ran to Walgreens. The victim was transported to Kaiser Richmond by AMR for her injuries. The victim did not have any further description of the suspect vehicle or suspects.
Attempted Strong-armed Robbery – CVC 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
At approximately 2200 hours, two subjects entered the store and loaded a shopping cart full of alcohol bottles. One suspect attempted to distract the manager, who was standing by the front doors. The other suspect attempted to push the shopping cart outside through the front doors, but the manager grabbed the shopping cart and a brief tug of war ensued. The suspects exited the store without any merchandise and fled the parking lot in a silver/tan Toyota sedan.
The same suspects then went to Pic-N-Pac (10012 San Pablo Ave) and stole two bottles of alcohol, while the clerk left the bottles on the counter attempting to ring them out. The suspects fled in the same type of vehicle, northbound on Carlson Blvd.
The first suspect is described as a black male adult in his 50’s, 5’10”, 140lbs., wearing black pants, a green jacket and a tan hat (Asian style rice hat).
The second suspect is described as a black male adult in his 30’s, 5’8”, 140lbs., bald, wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.
