Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide detectives have arrested 29 year-old Rakym Thibodeaux for the murder of the victim in the 1000 block of Nugent Street, Lancaster.  He was booked at Lancaster Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of 1 million dollars bail.
 
Suspect Thibodeaux’s booking photo will not be released.
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide detectives have discovered that 34 year-old Terrell Scott did not shoot the victim and has been released from custody. 
 
Further investigation revealed that a man at the gathering identifying himself as a witness may be the shooter.  He has been located and is being detained at Lancaster Station pending further investigation.
 
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 11:10 P.M. in the 1000 block of Nugent Street, Lancaster.
 
Homicide detectives have learned Lancaster deputies responded to the location regarding a gunshot victim call.
 
When deputies arrived at the residence they found an adult man, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.  The suspect was at the location and was taken into custody.
 
Prior to the incident a group of family and friends were gathered in the garage at the location.  An argument between the suspect and the victim ensued and the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim. 
 
The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The suspect, 34 year-old Terrell Scott and resident of Palmdale, was transported to Lancaster Station where he was booked for murder and is being held in lieu of 2 million dollars bail.
 
The motive for the argument is unknown and the weapon was recovered at the scene.
  
The suspect's booking photo will not be released and the victim’s identity is withheld pending next of kin notification.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to investigate the shooting death of a man. The incident occurred on Friday, April 7, 2017 at approximately 11:10 p.m., on the 1000 Block of Nugent Street, Lancaster.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
