High Wind Warning until 10:00PM

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 10 PM PDT THIS EVENING... The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect from 9 AM this morning to 10 PM PDT this evening. The High Wind Watch is no longer in effect.

* WIND...Southeast 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS...Port Townsend, Oak Harbor, Friday Harbor, Anacortes, and Bellingham.

* TIMING...Winds will increase late this morning and peak during the afternoon and early evening hours.

* IMPACTS...Winds of this strength can break branches off of trees...topple weakened trees and produce power outages.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ADMIRALTY INLET AREA ... SAN JUAN COUNTY ... WESTERN SKAGIT COUNTY ... WESTERN WHATCOM COUNTY

Instructions:

High winds can topple trees onto roads, vehicles, and rooftops. Falling trees or large branches have been known to cause fatalities during windstorms. Downed power lines can cause power outages lasting a couple of hours or longer.
