High Wind Warning until 11:00PM Friday
...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM PDT FRIDAY... The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM to 11 PM PDT Friday. The High Wind Watch is no longer in effect.
* WIND...South wind 25 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS...Westport...Ocean Shores...Hoquiam... Copalis Beach...Pacific Beach...La Push and Forks.
* TIMING...Strongest winds Friday afternoon and early evening.
* IMPACTS...Winds of this strength can break branches off of trees...topple weakened trees...and produce power outages.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CENTRAL COAST ... NORTH COAST
Instructions:
High winds can topple trees onto roads, vehicles, and rooftops. Falling trees or large branches have been known to cause fatalities during windstorms. Downed power lines can cause power outages lasting a couple of hours or longer.
