On March 27, 2017, at 1:33 a.m. Deputy Loren Barchett was dispatched to the 5000 block of County Road 1000 East near Somerville, Indiana to investigate a battery that had occurred. Upon arriving at the residence Deputy Barchett conducted an investigation into the battery and placed 39 year old Tiffanie Carter of Somerville into custody. At the conclusion his investigation Ms. Carter was transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Battery, and Disorderly Conduct. She remains in custody on a $650 bond. Deputy Barchett was assisted in his investigation by Oakland City Officer Trevor Winters.
