Deputies and Sheriff's Bomb and Arson respond to the report of a suspicious package in front of a business

LOCATION: 58900 block of Business Center Drive, Monterey Business District, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
SUMMARY:
On Monday, March 20, 2017, at about 6:00 pm, deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to a suspicious device call in front of the JT Cross Fit business, in the 58900 block of Business Center Drive in Yucca Valley. Deputies on scene determined the suspicious package did resemble an explosive device and evacuated all the businesses as a safety precaution. The Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Division responded and rendered the device safe. The device was found to be a fake and did not contain any explosives or harmful substances. The device looked highly suspicious but did not pose any threat to the public.
