South Brunswick Police Department Giving Entrance Exam
Deadline to file application is May 26th at 4:30pm
South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka announced today that applications for the 2017 entrance exam will be accepted from March 21st to May 26th . The nationally and State accredited department will give a competitive exam administered by the New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Association on June 12th . The department currently has 80 full-time sworn officers and handles over 78,000 calls annually. The 42-square mile Township has over 43,000 residents and one of the premier school districts in the State.
At the time of the test, candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age, possess a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university; or have four years of active military service in the United States Armed Forces with an Honorable Discharge. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and hold a current driver's license.
“We are looking for sharp, mature, intelligent men and women who have demonstrated responsibility and character and are up to the challenge to be their best," Chief Hayducka said. “Our department has a history of having outstanding officers serve our community, and we are looking to see who can fulfill that commitment in the future,” he added. The department anticipates up to a thousand candidates will take the exam.
