PHILLIPSBURG MAN INDICTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON EMERGENCY SERVICE WORKERS

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, announced the indictment of Kevin P. Flanagan, age 49, of the Town of Phillipsburg. On March 9, 2017, Mr. Flanagan was indicted by a Hunterdon County Grand Jury for two counts of Aggravated Assault, both 4rd degree crimes.

According to Prosecutor Kearns, “Mr. Flanagan was arrested by the Raritan Township Police Department on February 14, 2017, after he assaulted two Hunterdon Medical Center, Emergency Services Technicians while the technicians attempted to assist Mr. Flanagan.”

Prosecutor Kearns added, “Emergency Service workers are an essential part of our society and need to be protected from any individual who would attempt to harm them as they perform vital services to our community.”

The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
