The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

March 14th

0633 Hours: Officer Ackerman investigated a stolen red Honda Civic (CA License #3RNH628) on the 36000 block of Port Sailwood Drive.

0733 Hours: Officer Rivas responded to the 37000 block of Rockspray Street to investigate a reported stolen van. Prior to the Officers arrival, the victim located his own vehicle a block away on Dahlia Drive, near Birch Street. The loss from the van was carpentry tools. The vehicle was released to the owner at the scene.

0956 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes investigated an auto burglary on the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Drive. The loss was a backpack and glasses.

1635 Hours: Officer Horst contacted and arrested a 38 year old Fremont female for her outstanding warrant. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

1635 Hours: Officer Mapes contacted and arrested a 55 year old Kelseyville male for his outstanding warrant. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

1748 Hours: Officer Johnson investigated the theft of an IPod, backpack and a gym bag from an unlocked vehicle on the 39600 block of Potrero Drive.

2208 Hours: During a probation search at the EZ-8 Motel (5555 Cedar Court), Officer Warren contacted and arrested a 51 year old Newark male for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was issued a citation and released. A 50 year old Newark female was also contacted and arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
