A message regarding the Nor'easter. The worse of the storm gas passed although we are still experiencing strong winds, blowing snow, and plunging temperatures into the night. This will result in conditions on many township roads and hazardous driving conditions. Unless it is absolutely necessary we are asking you remain safe and at your home tonight. DPW will continue to plow and salt the roads in preparation for tomorrow mornings commute.Please allow extra time for the morning commute if you are traveling as these weather conditions are expected to continue into tomorrow. The Municipal Building will open on a 2 hour delay at 10 am. Recycling pick up for tomorrow has been cancelled. If you are physically able please assist our volenteer fire department by shovelling our fire hydrants in your neighbor hood. You are again reminded that parking overnight on any street in Mahwah is prohibited. This will allow the plows to do thier job. Please continue to check on your neighbors and elderly and offer any assistance they may need, As always in the event of an emergency dial 911 or call the Mahwah Police at 201-529-1000.
