The City of Perth Amboy’s Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the Blizzard expected to reach our area by mid-night tonight with 18-24 inches of snow accumulation that may cause power outages. Please remember if you live on a snow emergency street you must remove your vehicle when the road is snow covered or in the interest of public safety it will be towed. City offices will be closed and all programming, court sessions and meetings are cancelled for Tuesday, March 14th. Public Safety and Olive Street Shelter will be in operation. CODE BLUE SHELTER will be open at 8:00 p.m. Monday night to 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the Alexander F. Jankowski Community Center at 1 Olive Street. GARBAGE will be collected on Monday at mid-night, for all residents with garbage collection normally scheduled on Tuesday. Please stay off the roads in severe conditions. When clearing snow from your property area, sidewalk or vehicle DO NOT throw snow onto the street or a summons will be issued. Shovel snow onto your lawn or side of your property.
