UPDATE: Town Moderator has postponed 3/14 all day voting until 3/21
First, we apologize for the confusion. Hollis' Town Moderator in consultation with town counsel has ordered the postponement of 3/14 all day voting to 3/21 7a-7p. We apologize for the confusion and repeated messaging.
Here is the correspondence from the Town Moderator:
Confusion - Confusion - Confusion
After consultation with town officials including William Drescher, our municipal attorney, this is official notice that the Hollis Town Election scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, is being postponed until Tuesday, March 21, due to a severe weather emergency. The forecast is for between 12 and 24 inches of snow on Tuesday with winds rising to between 40 and 60 mph during the day with possible whiteout conditions. The safety of the voters and election workers is paramount in this decision. There is also the possibility of electrical outages which could disrupt the election process. Finally, public safety officials want to keep as many people off the local roads as possible so that emergency vehicles can get through if necessary and snow plows can keep up with the heavy snow.
The election on March 21 will be at the same polling places and times originally planned for tomorrow (March 14). Absentee ballots available from town clerk during normal hours.
