BLIZZARD WARNING

A MAJOR COASTAL STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY.

Low pressure will develop off the Carolina coast Monday,
becoming an intense storm as it moves east of New Jersey on
Tuesday. Heavy precipitation will develop along and west of the
track of the storm. Temperatures will be cold enough for snow in
much of the area Monday night and Tuesday with substantial
accumulations expected.

BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM EDT TUESDAY.

* LOCATIONS...Portions of eastern New Jersey.
* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow and strong winds.
* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches.
* TIMING...Snow begins Monday evening from southwest to
northeast across the warning area and will continue through
Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to
blowing snow, reduced visibility, and additional power outages.
* WINDS...Northeast 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.
* TEMPERATURES...From the mid 20s to lower 30s.

Instructions:

Make preparations now. Traveling during the storm may be extremely hazardous.
