Advisory

BLIZZARD WARNING in effect for North Castle area midnight Monday night thru midnight Tuesday night. Do not travel. Be prepared!

NWS HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT...A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Snow accumulation is estimated to be 18-24 inches and winds of 20-30 with gusts to 40 mph. Temperatures will be in the mid 20’s. Visibility is predicted to be ¼ mile or less. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions...making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. Road may become impassable, power outages possible.  Do not travel. If you must travel...have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded...stay with your vehicle.  Plan ahead, be prepared!

We urge you to use caution as this weather often causes trees and wires to fall.  Treat any fallen wires as if they are live and stay away from them. Report fallen trees and wires to the North Castle Police Department at 914-273-9500, or via 911.  You may report power outages to Con Edison at 800-75-CONED (800-752-6633) or via their website (www.coned.com).

Ensure you are prepared for this storm and secure any loose items that could be susceptible to the strong winds.  It is strongly advised that you do not travel as this storm may cause roadways to become impassable, and necessitate detours.
