Advisory

Winter Storm Warning 8pm Mon-6pm Tues, heavy snow, high winds. Remove all vehicles from roadways by midnight Monday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning beginning Monday 8pm through Tuesday 6pm.

Monroe Township is currently preparing equipment and personnel to respond during the storm.

Forecasts vary greatly but it is predicted that our area could see over 8" of snow. The snow will be extremely heavy at times with high winds causing blowing and blinding conditions. There may also be periods of sleet and freezing rain which will cause icy conditions on roads. This will make travel extremely hazardous. Drivers are encouraged to stay off the roadways during this storm.

PLEASE REMOVE ALL PARKED VEHICLES FROM ROADS BY MIDNIGHT, MONDAY NIGHT. This will allow Public Works to more effectively plow and helps emergency vehicles which may need to respond during the storm.

Residents should prepare for possible power outages due to high winds. Stock up on essentials including batteries, water, and blankets. Make sure all electronic devices are charged. Remember to take precautions for your pets.

Stay tuned to NJ weather forecasts and as updated local information becomes available on Monday, we will post additional information via Nixle, on Facebook @MonroeOEM and at www.MonroeTwp.com.
